What are some good books to read?
Here I turn you over to the professionals. Some book review sites I highly recommend are:
Bookshelvers Anonymous HERE
Broke and Bookish HERE
Wandering Librians (great book news) HERE
These are just a few of the many great ones out there!
What are some good “how-to” sites/books for writers?
My favs are:
On Writing by Stephen King
On Conflict and Suspense by James Scott Bell
Plotting by James Scott Bell
A lot of people like Janet Evanovich’s How I write.
Why are your cookies always so lacking? What’s wrong with you?
I’ve tried to add more flour, decrease flour, decrease oven temp and increase bake time, vis versa, beat eggs/sugar mix more, mix less..waaaaaaah. My children are suffering from cookie withdrawal and I don’t want to buy store bought cookies (YUCK). Please help!
How come you aren’t published yet?
I queried a book that wasn’t ready and realized I had a lot of learning to do. I’ve spent the last few years bettering my writing, reading, and learning the craft. I also pushed out two babies who take up most of my time. I’m hoping to query/self publish again when this WIP is finished.
Book: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Movie: You’ve Got Mail and Life is Beautiful
Place: My parent’s house
Drink: Anything with milk. Or pure, sweet, goodness that is milk.
Food: I have been able to convince myself that ice cream fits all food groups.
Dislikes: running, people who say mean things to others in comments, prideful authors, when ABC is not showing Harry Potter movies, going to movies that end up disappointing, feeling like I’ve wasted someone else’s time.
Likes: being different, yoga, roadtrips, a good, deep conversation, seeing a stranger help another stranger, finding a friend in a fellow book-lover.
Any other questions? I’m really quite boring.
